Permaculture Youth Workshops
Deepening the Connections We Depend On
This course offers a hands-on, experiential approach to observing how plant and animal communities function under natural conditions and will develop insight into caring for and working with natural cycles while reaping a harvest. We will start seedlings and watch them grow, learning from them as well as about them. Students will work with their plants once every week for the whole summer so they can participate and observe all of the cycles in an entire season of a plant community, from germination to consumption and compost.
Open to ages 8-13, this workshop will run on 16 Mondays through the summer 9 am to noon.
Every day, we will spend time with our plants, with the environment around us, with each other, and with ourselves; allowing time for thought and reflection about how we impact our world, and how it impacts us. An example of a day in a workshop follows;
